Criteria
In order to be Queenflix Approved, the film must meet these standards:
1. It must pass the Bechdel-Wallace Test
2.It must have an overall rating of at least 4 out of 5
3. It must have a feminist rating of at least 4 out of 5
What is the Bechdel-Wallace Test?
The Bechdel-Wallace test is an evaluation method created by Liz Wallace which is inspired by and meant to build upon the Bechdel Test created by Alison Bechdel. The evaluation is based upon the following:
- There must be at least 2 female characters.
- The characters must be named.
- Said characters must talk to each other at some point in the movie.
- Said conversation must not be about a man, even if they’re not involved in a romantic relationship with that man (two sisters talking about their father wouldn’t pass the test).
